The Finis Agility Paddle

Most swimmers looooooove themselves some paddles. They are fins for the hands. You can pull more water, you feel faster, your pull is more efficient, you get a better upper body workout.

As a coach, however, I have always been hesitant about putting paddles on new swimmers. Using paddles with the wrong technique can put additional strain on the shoulders. And we all know that:

Poor technique + paddles = shoulder injury which is way < swimming slowly or having bigger muscles.

If you are a new swimmer and are interested in trying out paddles, I highly recommend my personal favorite, the Finis Agility Paddle.

Let me tell you why. Unlike the majority of paddles on the market (and there are many), the Agility Paddle has no straps. The design ensures that the paddle will fall off your hand if you are using improper form, reinforcing good technique, particularly in your hand entry and early catch. The Agility Paddles are about $20 a pop and come in three sizes (S, M, L).

For a more detailed description of why these paddles are great, check out this review at Your Swim Book.

ALSO: This isn't a sponsored post. I just genuinely like these paddles and almost always recommend them for my swimmers.
